FORAN & FlowVision – new capabilities of engineering analysis of ship hydrodynamics at all design stages.
 

Specialists of “TESIS Ltd.” and “SMART MARINE Ltd.” (the official representative of company “SENER INGENIERIA Y SISTEMAS, S.A.” in CIS and Baltic States) have established and tested direct connection between shipbuilding CAD/CAM system FORAN and CFD system FlowVision. Flow around a ship was modeled. Both softwares incorporate innovative technologies for data communication which allow integration of the codes into complex software systems.

The testing has shown that joint use of the two systems considerably extends capabilities of engineering analysis of hydrodynamics and propulsive performance of a developed vessel. Specialists get opportunity to obtain and analyze reliable and complete information about the propulsive performance of a prospective ship hull at all stages of the designing process including preliminary study of the hull.
