Capvidia invites you to attend complimentary FlowVision-HPC Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Seminar “Using FlowVision SGGR technology to eliminate geometry simplifications for the most complex CFD Simulations” & “How to produce an Exact Matching CFD mesh for Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) with Abaqus”.
When: Wednesday November 12th, 2008 from 2:00pm until 4:30pm
Where: The Inn at St. Johns in Plymouth, Michigan (5 Mile and Beck Rd)
FlowVision-HPC is a unique general purpose Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solution for the modeling of complex laminar and turbulent gas and liquid 3D flows.
Finite Volume approach is employed to approximate the flow equations in a cell.
Unique SGGR (Sub-Grid Geometry Resolution) technology enables you to quickly generate a CFD mesh that is a “Body Fitted Cartesian Mesh” and not a “Body Fitted Curvilinear Mesh”. The mesh is automatically generated in minutes.
SGGR requires no geometry simplification: it provides natural truncation of Cartesian cells by triangulated surfaces.
The amount of cells used in the CFD simulation is significantly reduced because of the unique FlowVision SGGR meshing technology.
In order to reproduce flow patterns around complex surface shapes, smart adaptation algorithm refines the mesh according to pre-defined adaptation criteria. SGGR takes care of fitting the fine cells to the original model geometry.
Advance VOF method tracks moving interfaces.
Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) direct coupling capability with Abaqus.
Non-skew and skew schemes together with explicit and implicit time integration allow you to select an optimal strategy of calculations.
Moving bodies can be inserted into the computational domain. The 6 degrees of freedom motion is fulfilled with fast and accurate Euler method.
Thin clearances are not resolved by the mesh. Instead, the FlowVision Gap model is activated in the corresponding cells. The model reproduces the thin clearance effect on a course mesh.
High Performance Computing with clusters and multi-processor computers.
Substance database provides the properties of widely used substances.
Attend the seminar and learn how you can significantly reduce the effort from days or weeks to minutes in creating the CFD mesh for simulation.
